What exactly does digital marketing consultancy involve?
A consultant who doesn’t just give advice, but sits at the table with you and helps carry it out. In practice, we do two things.
We set the direction together. That’s where the real value lies. What are we going to do, for whom, and why? What content do we create, and where do we publish it? What should it deliver, and how do we measure that? And how does it fit the way your business works: your sales process, your CRM, your team?
We do the work. Setting up and fine-tuning ad campaigns, creating social media content, writing copy, sending mailings, building landing pages. From A to Z, or just the part you’re missing. Where AI makes the work faster, we use it. The choices and the quality control stay with us.
The difference from a traditional marketing agency: you work directly with the people who do the work. There’s no account manager in between, and no junior who still has to get to know your business.
Two ways to work together
We are your marketing team
Many SMEs don’t have their own marketer, or have one person who has to do everything alone. In that case we take on that role: strategy, planning, execution and reporting. You have one point of contact and a regular rhythm of meetings.
At 4 Business Software and dbBase we’re the marketing team in exactly that way, through five acquisitions. We built websites, launched Mercaflux, communicated the acquisition of MCH Services within two weeks, and created the tools that were needed.
We work alongside your own team
If you already have a marketing team, we fill the gaps where knowledge or time is lacking: a digital strategy, campaigns, analytics, dashboards, or the technical work your team doesn’t do itself.
At Democo Group and Ciril we work this way alongside their in-house marketing team: the advertising strategy, social media, performance marketing on Meta, Google, Facebook and Instagram, marketing automation and the web development behind it. Across ten new-build projects, that adds up to around 7,500 property leads a year. And at Luminus Solutions we’ve had a permanent place alongside the team for more than three years.
What we do
Strategy
- Digital marketing strategy: target audiences, positioning, message and funnel.
- A content plan: what content we create, for whom, and on which channels we publish it.
- KPIs that tie in with your business goals, from first click to customer.
Dashboards and reporting
- One dashboard with your website, campaigns and leads together.
- Monthly reporting on what worked, what didn’t, and what we’re doing next.
- Reporting on leads, cost per lead and revenue.
Execution
- Ad campaigns on Google, LinkedIn, Meta and Microsoft (see online advertising).
- Social media content: posts, visuals and video.
- Copywriting for your website, ads, emails and sales materials.
- Email marketing and marketing automation.
- Landing pages and changes to your website.
And whatever else is needed
When you’re really part of a team, you also see what falls outside the scope but still needs doing. At Luminus Solutions we help the IT team with web hosting, DNS and web security, implemented a visitor registration system and built an app that lets employees know about new LinkedIn posts.
A permanent place in your team: Luminus Solutions
What started with building a new website became a partnership of more than three years. Every week we sit down with Luminus Solutions. We work for three business units, each with its own market and its own approach: combined heat and power, industrial decarbonisation and mobile UPS systems.
We manage the website in three languages and extended it with a CO2 counter and a decarbonisation quiz. We run LinkedIn campaigns aimed at engineers and energy managers, plan social media around what’s really going on in the company, and produce print materials, from roll-up banners to construction-site banners. After three years we’re no longer a supplier, but part of the team.
Why working on site works
We’re happy to do short check-ins online. But you don’t get to know a business through a screen. In B2B especially, you need to understand the business, the customers and the people to create good marketing. The best content often comes about spontaneously: a site visit, an employee with a great story, a customer who happens to drop by.
That’s why we come to you. From Gingelom we can quickly reach all of Limburg (Hasselt, Genk, Sint-Truiden) and the province of Liège, where we also have a satellite office. We’re with clients in the Antwerp region every week. For companies in East and West Flanders, Raphaël is nearby. Further afield in Belgium? No problem either.
How we start
- Introduction. A 30-minute call with Bjorn, online or at your offices. We see whether there’s a match.
- Intake. We get to know your business, your goals and your current marketing. What’s going well, what’s missing, what data is there?
- Plan. You get a concrete plan: what we’ll do, in what order, and how we’ll measure whether it works.
- Getting to work. We start on the execution and agree on a regular meeting slot, weekly or monthly.
No lock-in contracts
You can cancel our collaboration monthly. We stand behind our work: if it’s going well, that’s reason enough for both sides to carry on. Ad accounts, data and dashboards are in your name. If you ever stop, you take everything with you.
